Install the Google Authenticator app

Apple

Download Google Authenticator to your Apple device:

1. Tap the App Store icon on your device and tap to open
2. Using the search function simply type in ‘Google Authenticator’ and tap the search icon
3. The Google Authenticator app will display, make sure it shows it is built by Google.
4. If the app is not already on your phone the button will read ‘FREE’ and you can tap on it 
5. You will be prompted to enter your Apple ID or touch the home button if you have Touch ID
6. Once you have entered your Apple ID correctly or used the Touch ID the app will start to install on your device
7. You now have the Google Authenticator app on your iOS device and you can activate your code

Android

Download Google Authenticator on your Android device:

1. Find the Google Play icon on your device and tap to open
2. Using the search function simply type in ‘Google Authenticator’ and tap the search icon, make sure it shows it is built by Google.
3. The app will display
4. Tap on the app icon and then the ‘install’ button.
5. You now have the Google Authenticator app on your Android device and you can activate your code

Windows phone

Download Authenticator on your Windows device:

1. On your mobile device find the Windows store and tap to open
2. Using the search function simply type in Authenticator and tap the search icon The Authenticator app will display, make sure it shows it is built by Google.
3. Tap on the Authenticator icon and then tap on install.
4. You now have the Authenticator app on your Windows mobile device and you can activate your code

How to add a login account to Google Authenticator.

1. Open the Google Authenticator App on your mobile device, and tap the + sign to add a new account. If you don’t see the plus sign, tap BEGIN SETUP.

10. Tap Manual entry.
11. On your device, type a name for the account, such as UD MFA. 
12. Type the Secret key that appears on your computer screen in to the Key field on your mobile device. Then tap the check box.
13. The account and codes appear in Google Authenticator.
14. On your computer, click Next.
15. Type the code from your mobile device in the Enter code field on your computer, and click Next.
16. After the account has been added, choose Got It.
17. On your computer, choose Next, and then choose Next again.
18. Click Done.
